Gabby   —   Paco Rabanne

Paco Rabanne announced that Elle is the ambassador of their new fragrance, FAME.

Playful. Sensual. Empowered. Irresistibly Parisian. She’s an icon. She’s a star. She’s FAME, the covetable new feminine fragrance by Paco Rabanne. A future classic, this 90% of natural origin fragrance matches airy jasmine, succulent mango and addictive incense. Its ultra-desirable bottle reprises the brand’s iconic chainmail dress. The quintessence of avant-garde luxury.

“I am thrilled to be an ambassador of a brand as iconic as Paco Rabanne. I was completely taken by the concept, and felt like it was a perfect fit and really reflects my personality. Being part of this new chapter was an immediate yes!” expresses Elle Fanning.

“Multifaceted and multitalented, Elle Fanning couldn’t be a better choice as the face of FAME”, says Paco Rabanne Vice President Jérôme Leloup. “She embodies the very essence of Paco Rabanne’s ultramodern femininity, and we are very happy to have her as the ambassador for our new fragrance.”

FAME Eau de Parfum will be available as of July 1st, 2022, at pacorabanne.com, and at all the brand’s points of sale in September 2022.

We’ve added the first images of Elle in the campaign to our gallery, including a couple of behind the scenes shots shared by Erin Ayanian Monroe, her makeup artist.

Livestreamed from Milan for Paris Fashion Week, this year’s show set imagined a cyber-spacious sports arena covered in screens with the—also livestreamed—faces of Miu Miu poster girls watching the show, including Elle and Dakota, Chloé Sevigny, and various influencers.

Elle has been promoting Miu Miu’s new fragrance, Twist, and a new (albeit brief!) interview for InStyle has been released. We’ve added the featured image to our photo gallery.

elle fanning, miu miu, twist, 2019 You’ve played everything from a Civil War-era schoolgirl to a princess. How does your love of fashion and costumes translate on the red carpet?

I’m pretty fearless. I’ve always respected fashion and the imagination of it all, how you can put pieces together to create different characters. I also love the style of people who are just authentically themselves, like Brigitte Bardot and Patti Smith. You can tell when someone has been forced into a look, but I’ve always been drawn to those who own it. The fashion world accepted me, whereas maybe in school I wasn’t accepted.

What happened to you in school?

We had a uniform, which I’m a big advocate of, but on Fridays we’d have free dress. I would come in something crazy, and my friends would be in Converse, T-shirts, skinny jeans, the normal things. I’d definitely be looked at a little funny. My mom allowed me to dress the way I wanted to express myself. I got glasses when I was 7; she let me pick out really wacky frames. I was so grateful she allowed me to be that way.

Are you as daring with your hair and makeup?

I’m pretty natural with my makeup. I don’t wear tons of foundation, even on the red carpet. My sister [Dakota Fanning] is really good at doing makeup. I’m definitely more obsessed with my skin-care routine because I sunburn so easily. I use grape-seed oil from the grocery store to remove makeup. But I like to keep up with trends and be experimental with red-carpet looks. I’ve tried drastic ponytails and extensions, and my hair has been many different colors—brunet, red, pink. Whenever I wear a wig in a film, I normally have pink hair underneath. It’s temporary, so whatever.

So is beauty about self-expression or self-care to you?

It’s a bit of both, and also about self-love, like taking the time to pamper yourself. I take a bath with salts every night. It’s a real ritual for me, a time to decompress.

You’re the face of Miu Miu’s newest scent, Twist. Is fragrance a part of your beauty routine?

I wear my fragrance every day; I’ll put it on in the morning and then probably [add] more at night. How it wears on your skin is important. Twist is very clean and fresh, but it has an edge, which I love. When I was younger, I would mix perfumes together, thinking it was so grown-up. Working in films from a young age, I remember how [certain] actresses smelled. Like Nicole Kidman and Angelina Jolie, they smell a certain way, I guess because of their fragrances. I worked with Patricia Clarkson when I was 9, and I ran into her randomly at a restaurant on my 18th birthday. I thought, “Oh, wow, you smell
the same.”
