While promoting The Beguiled in Cannes this week, Elle and her co-stars sat down for several interviews to talk about the film and the process of making it. Elle pointed out that this was the first project she got to film without being accompanied by a legal guardian, so she had fun spending time with other cast members and director Sofia Coppola, whom she had previously worked with in Somewhere. Coppola clarified that this is not an actual remake of the 1971 film by Don Siegel, but a reinterpretation of the book in which it was based, “from a female perspective this time”. Nicole Kidman alluded a difficult past for Elle’s character, Alicia, as well as a close relationship between them, stating that she let some of her bad behavior slide because “I know [her] past, and [she is] my baby”. It’s over! After about 9 days in Cannes for the 70th Annual Cannes Film Festival, Elle was photographed arriving at Nice Airport today – presumably to fly back home. Assuming she won’t be attending any events during the next couple of days (we never know, though…) I will start adding more pictures to the albums from Cannes this weekend. We’ll see! Anyway, the pictures of her arrival at the airport have already been added to our photo gallery, and you can check them out below.

As you might have noticed during yesterday’s updates, Elle attended a press conference for The Beguiled at the 70th Annual Cannes Film Festival. She was joined by her castmates, director Sofia Coppola and producer Youree Henley. We now have a video of the panel, and you can watch it below.

And the day has finally come! I had been anticipating today’s events in particular, as Elle is promoting the film The Beguiled in Cannes alongside some of my other favorite actors, such as Colin Farrell, Kirsten Dunst and Nicole Kidman. She attended the photocall, press conference and premiere for the film, as well as a dinner in celebration of its screening. Our gallery has been updated with images from all those events.
